  GreenFire was suggested by the clients I was meeting for lunch. I wasn't expecting much as signs outside said they are a bakery, a juice bar, they have pizza, pasta AND fresh oysters. And they're a butcher. And they have a big bakery/dessert case. So basically, everything. Usually that doesn't bode well but honestly, my experience here was great all around.
  
  We started with a few apps - bruschetta, duck wrapped figs (delicious) and bacon wrapped shrimp. The last one was incredible - probably some of the best shrimp I've ever had - ever!
  
  It was hard to choose a main because the menu had a lot of things that looked appealing. I ended up with a quiche ($10) filled with bacon, gruyere and spinach. Though it could have been served warmer, the flavor was great and I really liked that it was served with a side of vegetables. Others raved about the duck bacon burger, veggie hash and chicken salad sandwich.
  
  We did have some desserts and again, pretty impressed. The carrot cake was huge, and the crime brûlée perfectly carmelized. Great service as well - we never lacked for a refill or anything at all, really.
  
  For the area, GreenFire is probably a little spendy but I'd argue that what they're putting out justifies it. Hoping I have a reason to visit this customer again soon so I can stop for another tasty lunch!

  I have been here several times and Greenfire has become one of my favorite local go-to spots.  My reccomendations would be for appetizers:
  -Hummus plate
  -Bruschetta
  
  For Meal:
  -Avocado Black Bean Burger (try this even if you THINK you don't like veggie burgers)!  
  -The margarita or Meat Butcher pizza
  -Beef burger with duck bacon
  
  For Dessert:
  Chocolate Ecstasy (molten chocolate cake)
  
  Check out the bakery section also and grabbed sweets to go!
  
  Enjoy cocktails or bottles of wine! All are fantastic.

  Love this place! Food and service are great! They don't fry anything so don't even think about getting fries or onion rings with any. Sedona Taco Salad is my favorite but it's expensive - and so is their wine. No specials but it's my favorite Rockford restaurant.
  
  UPDATE: I was there for lunch today - had quiche - and it was horrible! Cold, tasted reheated and left a horrible aftertaste!  What happened Greenfire??

  I'm sure it's great, just not the two times we occassioned here.
  They were having kitchen problems, and service, and mgmt problems that night. The other isn't worth discussion.

  I went here for my birthday dinner this year and I must say I was really impressed. I had a salad which had super fresh lettuce and nice creamy Cesar dressing, the bacon ranch chicken Alfredo, and a cocktail drink (which I totally forgot what it was.) I could go on forever and ever about how good the chicken Alfredo was but all I'll say is it was full of flavor, really creamy, and probably the best chicken Alfredo I've ever had. The quantity was fairly large too. The drink was also really good. I only had one and got a slight buzz. After my friend told the waiter it was my birthday they bought me out a huge slice of blackberry lemon cake with a sparkler on it. The cake was delicious. Although this place isn't cheap, it's probably one of the more high end places in Rockford, I was very impressed. I loved my food and drink and was so happy I chose to go here for my birthday. Not to mention the atmosphere was perfect. Not brightly lit, pretty neat interior with a huge bar in the center, and very clean. Loved it.
